Evening programme for CPH:LX 2017

For the first night in the exchange, you can enjoy The Rhythm Baby Makers who have prepared three full sets of lovely swing tunes.
You can join the taster with Martin & Minou at 19.30 in Palladium, check out the Vintage Corner from 20-22, and get to know the dance floor of Dansetten (the Grand Ballroom).

The Rhythm Baby Makers

This happy bunch of Swedes will consecrate the new venue with lots of swingin’ tunes. Having already played at international dance events as well as the streets of Copenhagen, we are thrilled to have the Rhythm Baby Makers make som rhythm babies for the first nigt of CPH:LX.

Registration is open from 18.30-22.

For the opening night of the exchange, you can choose between four different tasters, and we will open the Blue Heaven room for some lovely blues music. The Intermediate Jack’n’Jill will be on Thursday, and we will be dancing to the tunes of Swing Shouters and Jake Green.

“Dancing to the rhythms in the music” (19-20)

In this class we will explore different emphasis in the music and see how can we react to them

Dom & Nora

“Floorcraft” (19-20)

We will help and challenge you with dancing on small, crowded dancefloors and give you tips & tricks for it (e.g. techniques to totally avoid rocksteps in your dancing and save some space for other things).

“Mini Jumps” (20-21)

Surprise your partner with some mini jumps & bounces and have even more fun in your dancing. Use them also for musicality, to hit some breaks for example.

Tips for entering jam circles, making it great for everyone and leaving an impression

Swing Shouters

For the opening night of Copenhagen Lindy Exchange, Swing Shoters will come with their Franch charm and swinging tunes. They are sure to make you swing and shout.

Jake Green

As an old friend of the Copenhagen Blues scene, Jake will open the Blue Heaven with its bluesy moods.

 Potluck Brunch

Time: Sunday 13.00- 15.00

Place: Søpavillonen, party venue (Gyldenløvesgade 24)

Who can join:  CPH:LX participants only

During our Potluck Brunch, you will get a chance to eat delicious food, mingle with the other lindy hoppers, and listen to good swing tunes in the background. The brunch will take place in our party venue, Søpavillonen, on the 1st floor, so you can jump into your dancing shoes and hop on the dance floor from 3 pm, when the party starts.

The brunch will have a potluck character (in Danish: sammenskudsgilde), which means that everyone who wants to join brings some food with them. You are of course welcome to bring a special delicacy from your home country. When you bring food to the Sunday brunch, it needs to be ready to serve, as there will be no kitchen. So please think cold, sliced, easy. There will be cutlery and plates available and you will have the possibility to buy drinks at the bar. Please note that signing up for the brunch is binding.
