Hair Styling Workshop

Ever struggled to do that nice hairdo before a lindy party? Is it difficult to follow a Youtube video? Do you need to ask questions? Fear not, we are here to help. In connection with CPH:LX, we will be doing two workshops in vintage hairstyling at the shop A Touch of Vintage – one on Thursday and one on Friday. You will get to know the basic tricks of hairstyling and hopefully we can answer your questions. No prior experience is needed, only the willingness to try. Østerbro City Walk
– a history of Danish defeat, humiliation and the Little Mermaid
Time: Thursday 14.00 – 17.00
Meeting Point: Østerport station (see map)
Price: Free (the pre-order of alcoholic beverages is closed.)

We meet at Østerport station and take a walk in the surrounding area.
The tour will take its path to different statues, telling the humbling story of the many war defeats in Danish history. As to not get too depressed, there will be a beer tasting at each statue stop. We’ll end the tour at the Little Mermaid at Langelinje. Use the tour as an introduction to Østerbro as one of the Copenagen districts, as a historical tour about Danish war history, or simply as a social hangout with the other participants.
(If it’s raining, we’ll go straight to a pub nearby instead.)
Joining for free
You don’t need to buy the ticket to be able to join thee tour. You can also just show up at the meeting point, or join the tour later on, and buy your drinks directly beforehand and bring by yourself (or just hang out with the other tour participants).
Østerbro city walk is a planned tour, so you can join and re-join the tour as you please.

Midway Spa Day

Ahh. Midway through the Exchange, let’s reboot the body and feet, and join us for a day at the races spa.
When moving venue to Østerbro, we were tempted to start our own Copenhagen spa tradition.
And hence: Midway Spa Day was born.
In Øbro-Hallen, there’s hot baths, finnish spa, and a foot therapy room!
After the spa, there will be time to go home for a change of clothes, or to go out for a dinner somewhere close, before the Friday party madness start with no less than 4 (!!) livebands!
Bring your own bathing clothes and towel.
(The bath is open during the whole exchange. Normal tickets cost 120 kr., Read more on their website)
Cake Walk
– a multi-layered event

We like pie, we like cake!
Once again, we will have a Cake Walk though Copenhagen, but it will not be a dance, it will be all about the cakes of Denmark, and cakes to be found in Copenhagen.
You can join the Cake walk with or without a ticket. The ticket gives access to the happy ending, where we eat some of the cakes we have hear about. If you don’t buy a ticket, you can go to one of the places on the tour, and satisfy yourself with the cake of your choice.
We will visit four cake shops and have a happy ending for everyone with a ticket. We will go to a place and eat cake. The place depends on the weather.
Cake Walk is a planned tour, so you can join and re-join the tour as you please.

Vintage Walk

Every city has its own hidden vintage treasures. Our own local vintage expert, Natasha, will take you on a treasure hunt through a selection of Copenhagen’s best vintage shops. On the vintage walk you can discover beautiful dresses, bijouterie hats and gloves. Natasha is an experienced vintage shopper and enthusiast and she will show us all the hidden treasures of Copenhagen.
We will meet at Torvehallerne (market halls), maybe grab a cup of coffee to go, and then head to the city center to visit the best vintage shops in the capital, among them Decor, one of the brightest stars at our vintage sky. We will end the tour in the newest vintage pearl, A Touch of Vintage, that has invited us for a nice glass of port.
The event is targeted for women, as the shops we will be visiting offer mostly women’s clothes. But men are of course also welcome!

Boat trip with live band, in the canals of Copenhagen.
We will be sailing 1 hour in the canals, with musicians in each boat.
After arrival we’ll walk together to the next event, that start at Storkespringvandet, Strøget, where we’ll meet up and go dance parading through Strøget.

Workshop description
I believe that as dance teacher we want to deliver classes that are easy to take while still developing as much skill and understandig as we can. We need to understand how our students’ needs translate to a way of communicating that is easy for them to listen to and focus on. During this taster we will work on our clarity of language every time we instruct our students or set them to work. After this taster you can approach your in-class communication in a way that makes it easy for your students to focus on their practice without being confronted with the process of your class.

Potluck Brunch

During our Potluck Brunch, you will get a chance to eat delicious food, mingle with the other dancers, and listen to good swing tunes in the background. The brunch will take place in Danske Studerendes Roklub, close to the venue, with a lovely view to the sea.
The brunch will have a potluck character (in Danish: sammenskudsgilde), which means that everyone who wants to join brings some food with them. You are of course welcome to bring a special delicacy from your home country. When you bring food to the Sunday brunch, it needs to be ready to serve, as there will be no kitchen. So please think cold, sliced, easy. There will be cutlery and plates available and you will have the possibility to buy drinks at a bar. Please note that signing up for the brunch is binding.
Join the Potluck Brunch by filling in your name in this Google Doc spreadsheet. In case you can´t open or edit the document, there will also be a possibility to sign up for the brunch at CPH:LX check-in desk.
